Vassilis Toliopoulos was born on June 15, 1996 in Athens, is 1m88 height and fights both as a point guard and as a shooting guard.
He began his career from the Panionios Infrastructure Departments, before moving to Icarus Kallithea to start his career. He stayed there for a year (2013/14), and the following season he moved to Colossus Rhodes.
From 2015 until half of 2018/19 he wore the Olympic jersey, with which he celebrated the title in the Basket League in 2016. In the second half of 2018/19 he wore the Mars jersey.
In the summer of 2019 he signed a contract with AEK, with which he celebrated the conquest of the Greek Cup in Crete. The following season (2020/21) he fought in Ionic Nicaea in the form of a loan, recording the most productive season of his career until then with 11.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists on average.
In 2021/22 he returned to Thessaloniki on behalf of PAOK, with which he had 6.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2 assists during the Basket League regular season. In 2022/23 he wore the Mars jersey for the second time in his career, closing that season as a member of the Boulazac Basket Dordogne in France.
In the summer of 2023 he returned to Thessaloniki for his third term as a member of Mars, making the best – until then – appearances of his career with 13.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists in the Basket League along with 14.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists in Eurocup. The appearances he made that season gave him the title of “most improved player” in the Basket League.
In 2024/25 he had 15.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per match at Stoiximan GBL, while Eurocup had 13.7 points, 2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1 steal on average.
Vassilis Toliopoulos has been a member of all the small national teams of Greece, competing from 2012 to 2016 in National Children, National Teenagers and National Young Men. With the latter won the bronze medal in the 2016 Pan -European Second Class in 2016, and a year earlier (2015) had reached the National Teenage of the National Teen Championships in Crete.
In February 2021, he wore the National Men’s jersey for FIBA’s “windows” for the first time in a fight against Bosnia. Since then he has been a steady member of the country’s representative band, even present at the Paris Olympics in the summer of 2024.
