In detail, the announcement:

“AO Phoenix Syros is pleased to announce his cooperation with Renan Michelucci (Renan Mikelucci) for the 2025/2026 season. Born on January 3, 1994 in the city of Mina and at 2.00 meters, the Brazilian competes in the position of central and has a great resume with collective awards and many individual awards.

Its best is the block (blocking at 345m), and is excellent when nailing in the first year (360 cm), with Phoenix adding an experienced central with a great personality to his game.

Renan Mikelucci took his first steps in Brazil with Ibirapra Sao Paulo (2011-2013) followed by Sao Ketano (2013/14). In the 2014/15 season he moved to Italy on behalf of Molfeta. This was also his first European experience, returning to Brazil in 2015, where he stayed until 2020 and competed in Apana, Botafogo, Taubat and Montes Claos. Under the guidance of the great Daniel Castelani, he celebrated with Taubate, in fact, the second championship in the club’s history in the 2018/19 season.

In 2020 he decided to return to Europe to establish. He signed for a year in Berlin and crowned German champion, celebrating the conquest of the German Super Cup. He was then found in France first for Paris (2021/22) and then for Montpellier (2022/23), with which he lifted the French Super Cup.

More mature than ever, he returned to Brazil in the summer of 2023 with historic Itabe Mina, reaching the finals of the championship. At the same time, he played in the World Cup of Clubs, with Mina reaching the final, where he ‘bent over’ by European champion Perugia. Renan, however, became the top block of the event!

The season ended, the new central of our team played again in France, but on behalf of Poitiers, coached by National Canada’s Federal Daniel Lewis and his teammate in the first part of the year, the ‘golden’ Olympian Ervin.

Renan’s presence in the season proved to be a catalyst for the historical qualification in the league finals after 13 years. In the highly competitive French league he had 53 blocks and was the second top block in block per set with 0.75!

“I’m really happy to join the Phoenix Syros this coming season. It is a great opportunity to live the volleyball in a new environment and I look forward to contributing to the team and evolve both inside and off the field. I look forward to getting started and getting to know everyone on the island, “the Brazilian central said in his first statements.
