Panathinaikos AO: Renovation in Metz with the support of the Attica Region!

“Significant upgrades were done in Metz’s closed at the request of Panathinaikos and the immediate response of the Region.

In the historic Athens stadium this year, Panathinaikos volleyball departments have been made significant improvements.

Mr Chardalias was informed of the first phase of work requested by Amateur Panathinaikos and are included in the subject of the Attica Planning Agreement with OPANDA, with a total budget of € 1.7 million, for the upgrading of sports facilities in the Municipality of Athens. The work is funded by the Region’s own resources, and it is worth noting that from the total budget, the € 1m is expected to be directed exclusively to work at the Metz Indoor Gym.

Already, air conditioning units have been installed in the central lounge and auxiliary venues, shades on the gymnasiums of the gym, as well as fitness equipment at the training. In the coming months, the second phase of the work will go ahead, which includes extensive wethermalties, repair of frames and floors, refurbishment of changing rooms and bathrooms, colors of all surfaces, hydraulic – mechanical installations and outdoor repairs, as well as renovation.

During his visit, the Regional Governor met with Amateur President PAO Dimitris Vranopoulos, as the Metz indoor gym is the headquarters of the Panathinaikos women’s volleyball team. Indeed, Mr. Chardalias had the opportunity to attend part of the athletes training and discuss both the Italian coach, Alessandro Tsapini, and separately with each of the players, wishing every success of the international and Greek goals for the team.

For his part, Amateur President PAO Dimitris Vranopoulos thanked the Regional Governor for the initiative, as he pointed out: “He responded immediately to our request. We have made a very good start to Metz’s closed and I am sure that with the support of the Attica Region and its own regional governor, we will have an even better cooperation in the future. ”

The Regional Governor, Mr. Chardalias, said “we want to be useful and effective for amateur sports and in this context we practice your efforts by reinforcing the infrastructure of the installation of Metz’s closed”. ” They make nationally proud of their over -effort and performance – the training conditions they deserve. Mr. Chardalia was accompanied by the Special Secretary of the Attica Region Elena Rapti, the Director of the Office of the Regional Governor George Chalkias and the Director of Development Planning Mary Miska. Also attended by PAO General Manager Dimitris Michalopoulos, the Secretary General of the Amateur PAO Sunday Galani and the Athletic Director Sotiris Pantaleon, as well as a spokesman for OPANDA. “
