The new “king” of the US is called Carlos Alcarath. The Spanish tennis player, No. 2 of ATP, won 3-1 set (6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4) in No. 1 in the world rankings, Yanik Sinner, in the US Open final and won his second trophy in the American Grand Slam, reaching six in his four-year career in Open, and reaching the two this year after the ROLAND GARROS conquered.
Alcarath, in his second chance, took the lead in the first set, which took advantage of the next game (2-0). Sinner broke the Spanish rhythm for a while, but could not get the break back. Alcarath kept his service and made another break for 6-2 in the seventh game.
At the start of the second set, Alcarath threatened Sinner in his service. The Italian turned off the break point and took a 1-0 lead and in the fourth game did not allow his opponent to get a 3-1 point. Sinner maintained his service without threatening and, with fewer mistakes, reached 6-3.
In the third set, Alcarath regained his pace and made a 5-0 and two breaks with amazing blows. Although Sinner stopped the Spanish series, in the seventh game, Alcarath reached 6-1.
The fourth set started with Sinner in the service trying to erase Alcarath’s doubles for 1-0. The Spaniard maintained the service and in the third break point “broke” that of the Italian for 2-4. Then both held their service and with Alcarath serving 6-4, losing only two championship points.
