Against the background of the long-awaited return of the leading European basketball event to our country, the Coordinator General Director of OAKA, Konstantinos Haliorispublicly expressed his excitement about his participation in the Organizing Committee of the Final Four of the EuroLeague, which will take place in May in Athens.
In a post on social media, Mr. Halioris stated that his assumption Final Fourafter almost two decades, constitutes “a great national moment”which goes beyond the narrow limits of sports and brings Greece back to the center of the international sports scene.
He emphasized that the Athens Olympic Sports Center is already undergoing extensive renewal, with modernization and upgrading projects that will transform OAKA into a space worthy of Europe’s largest events.
In closing, he noted that the successful conduct of Final Four will confirm once again that the Greece has the ability, organization and spirit of hospitality to respond to events of international prestige.

With particular emotion and a sense of responsibility, I accepted my participation in the Organizing Committee of the Final Four of the EuroLeague, following a Decision signed today by the Minister of Sports, Mr. Yiannis Vroutsis. It is a great honor for me to contribute with all my strength to an organization that will make Athens and Greece be heard loudly all over the world again.
It is one of the most important basketball events in the world, which returns to Greece after 19 years. The Final Four will be hosted in May in Athens and is a major national event, which goes beyond the narrow limits of sports and highlights our country as a protagonist on the international sports map.
