The Brazilian Ocyan Big Waves Award announced yesterday, 06, the finalists of this fourth edition, which this year reached a record number of entries: there were 448 waves, from six states (Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Bahia, Pernambuco, Santa Catarina and São Paulo ).
The contest also registered record attendance among women. In all, there were seventeen surfers registered to compete for the prize and more than 70 participants in the other actions that made up the event.
The award gathers records of the biggest and most impressive waves surfed on the Brazilian coast, in addition to counting on the participation of some of the main names of the sport today in the country. Among them are Lucas Chumbo, Pedro Calado, Lucas Fink, Pedro Scooby, Carlos Burle, Michaela Fragonese, Michelle Des Bouillons and Raquel Heckert.
The winners will be announced next Sunday, 10th, in a ceremony held in Barra da Tijuca, west of Rio.
