With a perfect campaign in the women’s Libertadores so far, Corinthians will face Santa Fé, from Colombia, in the tournament’s decision.
The final, in a single game, is scheduled for next Sunday (21), at 20 (GMT), in Montevideo (Uruguay). On television, FOX Sports and Conmebol TV broadcast the match. On the internet, Facebook and the Disney Group’s streaming services broadcast.
In the semifinal, Corinthians thrashed Nacional (URU) by 8-0, but the game was marked by a racist attack. Striker Adriana was called “monkey” by an opponent. The alvinegra team then responded with goals and gestures of protest.
Santa Fe, on the other hand, won the Brazilian railway, on penalties, to reach the decision.
The Corinthians go in search of the third Libertadores of the Parque São Jorge club. Before, they expired in 2017 and 2019.
In all the women’s Libertadores played (the first was in 2009), there was only one edition without a Brazilian team in the final. It was in 2016, when Sportivo limpeño (PAR) beat Estudiantes de Guárico (VEN) in the title match.
Brazil won nine and was runner-up in three decisions. In 2019, Corinthians and Santos played a 100% Brazilian final.
