How did you spend it in Greece?

“I had a good time in Las Palmas, I had a good season and then I spent 3.5 exceptional years at AEK. We had a lot of players with character.

How did your transfer from AEK to Hajduk come about?

“I was at home for Christmas and on January 1, 2021, President Luka Jakubusic called me and asked if I had a chance to come. I replied that this could not be done because they would not let me go with a contract for another six months.

I was then in negotiations with AEK for the expansion of our cooperation. They were fair in terms of the contract, they offered me a new one for five years. Since then, 25 days have passed and I had some disagreements with the previous coach at AEK (s.s. Carrera) and I no longer wanted to renew my contract.

There was interest from me from Turkey and they thought it was a matter of money, but that was not true. As beautiful as I was there, I wanted to change something in my life.

Then the president of Hajduk called me again and asked me if there was a case for me to get a transfer. I said, “Let’s try it, why not?” In the meantime, the coach with whom I had won the championship, returned to AEK and begged me to continue, but my mind was no longer there. I no longer wanted to stay at AEK. “Negotiations for my departure began and lasted ten days.”

“Yes, I left some money, but the most important thing was to play. I could have taken from AEK what belonged to me under a contract, but I knew I would not be happy. And not playing for six months is a long time. I thought that the scenario to leave AEK was not realistic and that they would not let me leave before the end of the season. In the end, however, we managed to resolve the issue and sign for Hajduk. “
