I tried the Dyson Strange air filter headphones to see if it really worked.

Dyson is known for creating the most innovative gadgets for the home, but the British tech giant has never tried this until now.

The company’s latest invention, called the Dyson Zone, comes in the form of headphones with a built-in air-purifying mask designed to help people escape air pollution.

Like other Bain and Storm Trooper crossovers, the wearable pairs noise-canceling headphones with a vent cover that sits in front of your nose and mouth and draws filtered, cool, mature air out for good health. Breathing.

It allows exceptional behind-the-scenes access to Dyson’s engineering labs in Wiltshire with exclusive hands-on access to futuristic gadgets.

Here are some of our first thoughts on beautiful and boring gadgets, and if they’re really any good…

Get in the zone

Dyson's first wearable device, the Dyson Zone, is a combination of noise-canceling headphones and a unique air purification system that provides users with filtered air, launched Wednesday March 30, 0600. Setting up the belt is not as difficult as you might expect. The mouthpiece opens easily and can be placed on the pillow like normal headphones. To attach the visor, simply drag it in front of a person and the magnetic mechanism on the side will secure the visor.

Then position it up or down or drag it towards your face to make it fit properly. The entire item is surprisingly easy to use, very light and very comfortable.

By pressing the button on the air filter and the small fan on each cup of the earphones, the air filter works and sends the filtered air directly to the nose and mouth area. Even if he calms down a bit, it’s strangely satisfying.

As I said, these powered fans are the smallest motors ever developed at Dyson. They’re powered by a pair of compressors that gently inhale surrounding air, pass it through a pair of two-layer filters, and clean it through a touch-free visor before passing it through your nose and mouth. According to Dyson, it filters allergens and particles down to 0.1 microns.

After cleansing, the air does not just blow into the navel like a hair dryer. That’s only natural because Dyson was really thinking about how the airflow would be supplied.

On either side of the visor, there is a carved back to keep airflow close to the nose and mouth and minimally diluted by outside wind. You can breathe normally and there is nothing strange about it. The level of air quality you breathe is provided to the corresponding Dyson app so you can track your journey data and see where the air quality has deteriorated during your journey.

Of course, zones aren’t just about removing debris from the air. You can also enjoy headphones with very impressive sound quality. Especially considering this is Dyson’s first foray into the world of audio. The bass is fun and full, and in our short experience playing music was generally rich and immersive. It also includes 4-way Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which completely blocks out external noise.

Dyson hasn’t confirmed the zone’s activation time yet, but it depends on different airflow modes, such as naturally using less power on the “low flow” setting and more power on the “high flow” mode.

The great thing about Airflow is that it also supports “auto” features. The flow rate here automatically changes to supply the appropriate amount of filtered air depending on the intensity of breathing. Super smart thing.

But the big elephant in the room looks like this outfit in reverse. One look in the mirror with the belt on may be enough to never put it on again. Of course, wearing them on the street draws a lot of attention, and most Britons don’t like to pay attention to themselves. Because of this, it’s hard to see the zone take off, which is a shame.

It is the basis of the fight against air pollution.

As many may think, the pretty weird looking Dyson Zone didn’t come out right away due to the Covid backlash. It has been in development for over 7 years and was created to alleviate growing concerns about urban air pollution and noise pollution.

In tests, the Dyson Zone managed to filter two viruses out of the air, but did not test for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes covid. Dyson wishes to point out that this zone is not designed to prevent the next pandemic. But I think this will probably help me.

So if the area is not related to Covid, why should we develop it? Now, Dyson is already talking about ionic air purification and why it’s so important due to the health risks associated with air pollution.

The company has developed many devices in the last five years to solve this problem. This shows how bad the UK is and what the dangers are of breathing this air on a regular basis.

Air pollution is one of the leading causes of illnesses such as asthma, lung disease, stroke, cancer and heart disease in the UK. According to the World Health Organization, air pollution is one of the greatest environmental risks to health.

In 2016, authorities reported that outdoor air pollution in cities and towns was estimated to have caused the premature death of 4.2 million people worldwide. And this is becoming more and more worrying. In 2019, it was reported that 99% of the world’s population lived in areas that did not meet air quality standards. Countries can reduce the disease burden by reducing air pollution levels.

If it works as the engineers say, Dyson’s Zone could be a revolutionary device in the fight against premature death from air pollution.

Can you catch it?

So can the Dyson Zone become a future theme when air pollution becomes a theme of such a theme?

I am very grateful for this device, the innovation it incorporates and how comfortable it was, but I am still not completely sure. When I visited the company’s lab, Sean Ngma, a Dyson product design engineer who worked on the project seven years after it began, pointed out the positives. How you see this device becoming particularly popular in the Asian market due to the high levels of pollution in the Asian market, and how common it is to wear a mask in this area. So I have to agree.

But in our own field, I think there is one thing that makes the zone difficult. It’s his new and somewhat scary look.

People were a bit hesitant due to their unconventional looks when Airpods were first released, but now they are probably the most common earbuds. But there’s a big difference between the two little white objects in the ears and the giant face-to-face plastic mosaics reminiscent of cyborgs.

This may not be a step for some, even those who are seriously concerned about the level of air pollution in their area. For many, this area will be a dumping ground between health and social emotions. Alienation, unfortunately in most cases, the latter wins.

A little trick? Შ It is possible. Ძ Is it really cool? of course.

Dyson hasn’t confirmed a release date for the Zone yet, but said it could be expected to launch in the fall. Pricing has yet to be finalized, but it’s clearly not cheap.
