The world’s most popular messaging app is powered by the ability to edit messages.

There is currently no way to edit a message in WhatsApp after sending it.

Like Twitter, if users can make changes as soon as they send a message, they can reduce a lot of inconvenience and frustration.

And WhatsApp was already toying with the idea of users having the right to edit messages, but that didn’t happen.

Currently, according to an update on WhatsApp’s WABetaInfo blog, the “Edit Message” option is clearly visible on screenshots of the app’s development.

The screenshot shows an Android device, but WABetaInfo suggests that this feature will roll out to both Android and Apple’s iOS.

The blog claims that the message editing options follow WhatsApp’s latest decisions regarding message replies.

WABetaInfo reports that it first noticed the development of message editing five years ago, but for some reason, WhatsApp hasn’t done it yet.

This site suggests that there probably isn’t an edit history to test previous versions of edited posts. But he states that this is subject to change as options are processed.

Unfortunately, there is no time frame for distributing features to over 2 billion WhatsApp users.

In response to the message, WhatsApp included them in the final version of the application a month after its initial announcement.

There is a limit to emoji reaction. For example, you can only add one reply per message. This is pretty standard for meta-owned apps like Facebook and Instagram.

It is not yet clear when (and when) the option to edit the message in WhatsApp will finally come out.
