Microsoft still has sexual harassment allegations at the forefront, but this time it’s the mixed reality boss.

According to Insider, Alex Kipman, the lead developer of Microsoft HoloLens, has resigned following allegations of verbal abuse and sexual harassment.

After her departure, there were reports that she was involved in inappropriate contacts and comments with female employees.

Artificial intelligence (AI) engineers have also been accused of viewing virtual reality porn in front of office workers.

In an email seen by GeekWire, Microsoft Cloud and AIVP Scott Gatrie sent an internal memo notifying employees of Kipman’s resignation, but did not mention the fraud allegations.

“We mutually decided that it was a good time for him to leave the company and pursue other opportunities,” Gatrim said in a memo.

Kipman will reportedly stay on for another two months to support the transformation.

Due to his sudden departure, the Microsoft Mixed Reality team, the HoloLens hardware team joined the Windows+ Devices group, and the software team joined the Experiences Devices division.

More than 25 Microsoft employees provided internal reports of alleged misconduct by Kipman, including instances of unnecessary contact, according to Insider sources.

Sexual harassment allegations against key employees, including former CEO Bill Gates, are not uncommon for Microsoft.

In January, the company announced plans to consider how it handled sexual harassment claims made against some top managers. CEO Satya Nadela earlier promised to end Microsoft’s tolerance for “talented jackpots.”

He asked Microsoft for a comment.
