Love Island 2022: What phone do the islanders use?

It is well known that athletes entering a Love Island village must surrender their cell phone before opening the door.

Instead, they provide Love Island with a dedicated phone to prevent them from scrolling through Instagram or checking news from the outside world.

It’s also a way for the show’s producers to contact you with dates, attendance, and other announcements related to the show.

Finally, islanders can use devices to take sexy selfies or take pictures of other athletes.

Love Island has built a strong partnership with South Korean manufacturer Samsung over the past few seasons, but for 2022 everything has changed.

This year, all of the Love Island gangs are using Google Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. This is recognizable thanks to the distinctive black stripes on the back that house the phone’s camera system.

Plus, even if your smartphone is locked (you can’t send phone calls or text messages to the outside world or connect to Villa Wi-Fi because special software is installed), the Google Pixel 6 Pro has a lot of cool technologies hidden away.

The aforementioned camera system includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.85 aperture lens with optical image stabilization. Next to it is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 lens and a 114-degree field of view. Lastly, a 4x telephoto lens to take these big shots.

Google has its own Tensor processor in the Pixel 6 Pro. This processor processes a number of photo computing and photo editing tools.

Magic Eraser mode can accidentally remove elements from your photos, such as background bombs and unwanted elements, such as neighbors in your original house.

There’s also a “motion mode” that mimics the long exposure settings of traditional cameras. This turns a river into a dirty watercourse and a car headlight into a continuous stream of light on a dark road.

So I’m not sure the islanders will be able to keep their phones after leaving the villa, but Google’s tech gadgets may be enough to keep them entertained when they buy the next upgrade…
