Temporary bans on Airbnb house parties across the UK have become permanent.

During the first Covid pandemic, the company claims that reports of fraudulent gatherings at host properties have plummeted.

A San Francisco-based technology company said the party’s liability rate fell 44% year over year after implementing the policy in August 2020.

This policy was first created to prevent the spread of Covid.

Now is forever.

“This is a question of whether or not there is a target,” said Ben Bright, a company spokesman.

Airbnb also said it would lift the 16-person limit and allow full bookings for larger homes listed on the platform.

In 2019, Airbnb began enforcing much tighter restrictions, starting with a global ban on so-called “party houses” and constant annoying neighborhood advertisements.

Airbnb also resumed its pandemic policy, removing both the “Event Friendly” search filter and the “Parties and Events Allowed” house rule.

According to the company, it was discontinued in 2021 after more than 6,600 guests and some hosts tried to break the ban on the party.

A spokeswoman said: “At Airbnb, we believe that the areas and communities in which we work are just as important as the hosts and visitors who use our services.

“We know that most of our hosts share their homes responsibly. Only most of our guests are responsible and own the Airbnb listing and neighborhood. It’s the same as treating like.”
