Oleg Artemiev had been out of the ISS for nearly three hours (the mission was scheduled to last about six hours) when the battery indicator on his suit began to drop sharply, prompting officials to order Artemiev’s immediate return inside the space station.
One of the two Russian cosmonauts who performed tasks in outer arm of the International Space Station was forced back inside today of the ISS, because of a problem with his suit’s equipment. The Moscow control center ordered Oleg Artemiev to end his spacewalk early.
The cosmonaut had completed nearly three hours outside the ISS (the mission was scheduled to last about six hours) when the battery indicator on his suit began to drop sharply, forcing those in charge to order Artemiev’s immediate return inside the space station.

Oleg Artemiev returned to the interior of the ISS, while his colleague Denis Matveev completed work on the space station’s robotic arm.

NASA spokesman Rob Navias assured that Oleg Artemiev “he was never in serious danger.”
