Attempts by fraudsters to defraud unsuspecting citizens by using the identities of various Law Enforcement Officials continue.
In this particular case, they use the details of the President of the Board of Directors of Europol as well as prints of the Hellenic Police, Europol, Interpol and the City Police and under the pretext that their recipient is involved in a case of pornography and other crimes, they forward a letter from supposedly competent auditors authorities trying to deceive citizens-users of the internet, pointing out that such offenses carry a 5-year prison sentence and a fine of 75,000 euros.

In this context, it is announced that the text-message circulated via e-mail, purporting to be a letter from the competent control authorities, which bears the name of the President of the Board of Directors of Europol Jérôme Bonet, as well as a false signature, is clearly a forgery and deceptive.
Citizens are requested not to respond and to delete this or other similar messages as well as “not to open” the attached files to avoid being infected by malicious software.
It is recalled that, in the last period of time, a systematic attempt to deceive has been identified with similar texts – messages using the details of officials of the Ministry of Citizen Protection (related from 11-04-2022 , 27-04-2022 , 21-05-2022 , 10-06-2022, 29-06-2022 Press Releases).
