Even if users still see the option to sign up for the service, they reportedly then receive an error message
Twitter users seem to be facing problems as the social networking platform appears to have disabled the option to sign up for the company’s new $8 subscription service, the Twitter Blue from the iOS app, just days after its release.
Although the platform has not issued an official announcement, Forbes verified that users were unable to sign up for the service for more than an hour.
Even if users still see the option to sign up for the service, they reportedly then receive an error message that reads: “Thank you for your interest! Twitter Blue will be available in your country in the future. Please check back later.”
The reason why users are unable to sign up for Twitter Blue is not known. Twitter could be deliberately shutting down access to the service in order to control the chaos its launch has caused. Otherwise, it is possible that the system has simply crashed.
The problem appears to be affecting users worldwide, including in the US, where the service officially launched this week.
