The exact cause of the problem is not yet clear, but the solution seems to be simple
“Meeting with Putin”… A relatively widespread bug in Google Calendar that many users have been experiencing in recent hours is the automatic generation of random events from unrelated Gmail messages.
According to users of the application on social networks, in the last hours the Google Calendar displays randomly generated all-day events, based on messages from Gmail (e-mails) or newsletters, which are not related necessarily with some specific event. So far, there is no clear pattern to this bug.
The exact cause of the problem is not yet clear, but the fix seems to be quite simple. Going to the Google Calendar settings (Settings > Events) from Gmail, and turning off the checkbox for “Automatically add events from Gmail to my calendar” (Automatically add events from Gmail to my calendar) will logically stop the creation of these events.
This trick was also used to stop spam invitations appearing on the calendar in 2019.
That is odd!

Y’all, my @googlecalendar has started creating random events based on emails I’ve gotten … only it’s just like, random marketing content and newsletters.
What fresh hell is this? pic.twitter.com/9ZWR4Txw9C
