During an interview on a FOX News show, Elon Musk announced that he will launch his own artificial intelligence program under the name “TruthGPT”, which will come as a… response to ChatGPT, the popular chatbot from OpenAI.

“I’m going to start something I call ‘TruthGPT,’ or maximum artificial intelligence that seeks the truth and tries to understand the nature of the universe,” said the famous billionaire in the interview that will be shown today.

“And I think that might be the best path to safety, in the sense that an AI that’s interested in understanding the universe is unlikely to wipe out humans because we’re an interesting part of the universe,” he said.

Musk last month incorporated a company called X.AI Corp, based in Nevada, with himself as the sole director and Jared Birchall as the company’s chief executive.

Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015, but stepped down from its board in 2018.

In 2019, he tweeted that he left OpenAI to focus on Tesla and SpaceX. He also tweeted at the time that he quit because he didn’t agree with some of what the OpenAI team wanted to do.
