THE Artificial Intelligence could lead even to the extinction of humanity, warn experts, including the heads of OpenAI and Google Deepmind.

Dozens of experts advocate the warning published on the website of the Center for the Security of Artificial Intelligence, the BBC points out.

“Mitigating the risk of AI extinction should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war”is highlighted.

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI and creator of ChatGPT, Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, and Dario Amodei of Anthropic also agree with the statement. So does Geoffrey Hinton, the so-called “godfather of artificial intelligence,” who has warned again about the dangers of super-intelligent AI.

But there are also some experts who believe that fears of AI wiping out humanity are unrealistic and distract from issues like bias in systems that are already a problem.
