Proclaimed open public international competition for the development of a cluster of satellites for earth observation, with a total budget of 60 million euros. The goal of the Ministry of Digital Governance, which implements the National Small Satellite Program, is to strengthen Greece’s capabilities in space technologies and applications. This is an important project implemented through the European Space Agency (ESA) with funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0.
This tender is part of the overall revised Microsatellite Program with a total budget of 130 million euros.
Upon its completion, data and value-added services will be provided horizontally to multiple agencies of the Greek State, such as the Ministries of Environment and Energy, Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, and Shipping, through the Microsatellite cluster. In particular, the satellite data and the products that will result from their processing will support our country’s efforts to continuously monitor the environment, record changes over time and deal with climate change.
At the same time, the objective of the Ministry of Digital Governance is to assimilate know-how from the domestic market, in order to develop a space ecosystem, capable of supporting the development of cutting-edge technologies.
It is pointed out that the relevant tender will remain open until 5/3/2024, without giving any extension of time for the further submission of proposals.
