THE Google published the Ads Safety Report on Wednesday.

Through the Report, Google shares more information about how it harnesses the power of artificial intelligence and large language models, including Gemini, to make its policy enforcement efforts faster, stronger, and more accurate.

In summary:

  • Google blocked or removed more than 5.5 billion ads that violated the company’s policies. That means it interfered with more than 9,000 ads per minute
  • Blocked over 6.9 billion ads
  • Suspended more than 12.7 million advertiser accounts for serious violations of company policies, nearly double since 2022
  • Removed ads from over 2.1 billion websites
  • Added or updated 31 policies that affected both advertisers and publishers in 2023
