The new Instagram update is coming to … empty our inbox.
Until now, if you wanted to show someone that you like the photo or video he has uploaded to his Insta Stories, you had to react either with the emojis options given to you by the platform, or with a message. With the new update, you can like Story and the notification will be visible to the user along with the other notifications.
With this update, Instagram hopes to separate the feedback of a user’s followers from the actual communication and unload the inbox. The president of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, explained that next to the box that allows you to reply with a message to an Insta Story and the icon to send the story to someone, there will be a heart like the one we see below the photos.
Each user will be able to see who liked, in addition to the notifications window, and in the list of views of each story where the heart will appear next to the name of the user who clicked like.
St Private Story Likes ❤️
Starting to roll out today, you can now send some love by liking people’s stories without sending a DM.
Likes on stories are private and do not have counts. Rather, they appear as hearts next to people’s handles in your Stories view sheet. ???????? pic.twitter.com/l56Rmzgnnw
