The author’s deepfake avatar behaves with absolute naturalness and you can hardly distinguish it from a real person
Artificial Intelligence impresses, or… scares once more, with the American author and businessman Reid Hoffman to converse comfortably with his… digital self.
Hoffman asks his deepfake AI avatar, which behaves with absolute naturalness and almost indistinguishable from a real person, to summarize his 336-page book (Blitzscaling) in one… sentence, to explain it as if it were aimed at children, to explain it as if it was aimed at fans of the TV series Seinfeld, and to summarize it in … Klingon (the language of the Klingon aliens in Star Trek), which he seems to do with admirable success.
The video avatar was created by the Hour One platform, Hoffman’s voice was created by Eleven Labs, and his personality – the way ‘AI Reed’ formulates the answers – was created by a custom chatbot that created in GPT-4 which was trained in Hoffman’s books, talks and podcasts, as well as other content he has produced over the past few decades
