Folha reaches 3 million followers on Instagram

THE sheet reached 3 million followers on Instagram this Sunday night (20), consolidating itself as one of the main journalistic vehicles in Brazil and in the world on the platform.

On the 24th and 25th of February of this year, when the war in Ukraine began, the sheet gained 25,000 new followers, reinforcing the trend that users seek reliable information when there are relevant events in Brazil and around the world.

In April 2020, the newspaper had reached the mark of 2 million followers, amid the beginning of coverage of the pandemic. In March of that year, the sheet gained 137,000 followers following a surge of interest in journalism because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In July 2021, the sheet debuted a new visual identity on Instagram with the aim of adapting to the way communication takes place on the social network and maintaining the visual standard of the newspaper used in other media such as the website and the print.

With over a billion monthly active users, Instagram is one of the most popular social networks right now. The tool is one of the most used for news consumption. According to a BTG Pactual/FSB survey published this week, 32% of Brazilians use it to read about elections.

On Twitter, the sheet has 8.2 million followers. On Facebook, where sheet returned to publishing content in 2021, the page accumulates 5.5 million followers. Last year, the newspaper joined Telegram (8,800 subscribers) and TikTok (237,000 followers).
