The Athens Innovation Summit 2025 of Endeavor Greece, co -organized this year by Google Greece, was successfully held on September 12 at the Herod Atticus Conservatory, hosting a top debate on the future of artificial intelligence, ethics and democracy. In the shadow of the Acropolis, the birthplace of democracy and philosophy, the event confirmed the role played by Greece as a crossroads of cultures and as a compass for tomorrow’s moral questions.
The focus of the evening was the fruitful dialogue between Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Greek Cypriot co -founder & CEO of Google Deepmind and Demis Hassabis chemistry. The discussion, co -ordinated by Endeavor’s co -founder & CEO, Linda Rottenberg, uniquely bridged some timeless philosophical questions with the most urgent technological challenges of our time. Endeavor Greece’s Chairwoman, Constanta Smokou-Konstantakopoulou, the Managing Director of Endeavor Greece, Panagiotis Karabinis, as well as the General Manager Southeast Europe of Google, Peggy Antonakou.
In the context of the debate, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said: “I see artificial intelligence as a technology with a huge transformative power, which can really allow our country to make a jump, surpassing other European countries, in our efforts to converge with the rest of Europe. This will happen not only by supporting the ecosystem of our entrepreneurs – something we already do through incentives and enhancing access to capital – but utilizing artificial intelligence at the state level. For his part, Demis Hassabis said: “Artificial intelligence can bring incredible potential to accelerate scientific innovations and can lead to a new golden age of discoveries.
