The Technical University of Crete He confirmed for another year his international recognition and high level of research project, according to the updated bibliometric study of John Pa Ioannidis of Stanford University, published on September 19, 2025.

The annual ranking, with title “UPDATED SCIENCE-WIDE AUTHOR DATABASES OF STANDARDIZED CITATION INDICATORS”evaluates the worldwide performance of academics based on the impact of their published work. According to a statement by the Rector’s Authority, forty, a members of the academic staff of the Technical University of Crete are included in the lists.

This year’s classification is based on a variety of indicators involving both the annual activity of 2024 and the overall scientific work of the researchers. The evaluation covers more than eight million scientists internationally, taking into account the reports that each scientist has received with at least five publications in the Scopus database.

Specifically, thirty members of the academic community of the Technical University of Crete were classified in 2024 among the top 100,000 scientists worldwide, as well as in the top 2% in their scientific area, between 22 scientific fields and 174 subcategories.

At the same time, thirty -five members of the Foundation are also distinguished in the list of their overall scientific work, with twenty -four of them included in both rankings. The Technical University of Crete congratulated its members on this important distinction, which reflects the high -level research project produced at the Foundation.
