Workers today removed the iconic ‘Golden Arches’ from a McDonald’s restaurant north of Moscow, the company’s symbol, in the first phase of renaming the fast food chain that began in Russia a few days after the company announced plans to leave the country.
The world’s largest fast food chain is selling its restaurants in Russia to one of its local franchisees, which will operate under a new name that has not yet been announced, ending more than three decades of presence in the country.
