Dead The former princess of Qatar was found inside her house in the Spanish city of Marbella, Cassia Galanio.
As the 45-year-old woman had become known she was fighting a tough court battle with her ex-husband for the care of their children, for over 15 years.
She was the third wife of the 73-year-old billionaire Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al-Thani, uncle of the current emir of Qatar.
In particular, he had accused him of sexually abusing one of their three daughters, with him denying it.
The cause of her death is attributed to a drug overdose. According to Le Parisien, Spanish police found Galanio’s body in her bed, with no signs of physical violence.
The Paris court had rejected Galanio’s requests for custody. He suffered from nervous breakdowns for months and as a result, the judge adjourned the case until a psychological assessment was made.
In a recent interview, she said: “Two of my daughters are twins. They wanted to live with me, so he cut off contact with them as punishment. It’s very sad because children need both parents.
“Our youngest daughter is not allowed to talk to me, which makes me very sad because she takes a lot of material things from her father, so it is almost like manipulation and blackmail. “It’s like a part of my body is missing.”
During his argument, the 73-year-old accused her of being an alcoholic with mental health problems.
