The British Ministry of Defense confirmed with the latest information on the developments in Ukraine that the Russians have taken control of most of it. Severodonetsk.

The main road to the city remains under Ukrainian control, but Russia continues to record steady gains in places, using heavy artillery concentration.

This, of course, the British Ministry points out, has not happened without a price for the Russian forces, which have suffered losses during the operations.

It is further emphasized that crossing the Siversky Donetsk River, a natural barrier to Russian advance, is vital for the invading forces as they secure control of Luhansk Oblast and prepare to shift their focus to operations. .

The ministry notes the areas between it as potential river crossings Severodonetsk and the neighboring city of Lisichansk, as well as the city of Lyman, which was recently occupied by the Russians.

At both points, however, the river line is likely to remain under the control of Ukrainian forces, who have destroyed bridges.

The Pentagon added: “It is possible that Russia will need a brief pause to regroup in the face of adversity and subsequent attacks deeper into the Donetsk region, where the Ukrainian armed forces are preparing.”

The final comment of the British media is that such a pause “risks (for the Russians) a loss of the momentum they have built in the last week”.
