Britons face a week of thunderstorms and rain, following the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, mainly after celebrating four days of sunshine.

The royal competition at Buckingham Palace escaped the rain, but bad weather canceled the Red Arrows show and disappointed many.

Unsettled weather continued overnight with the underground office issuing a yellow warning for rain in the east of England until 4am.

People were told to expect flooding, travel delays and even the possibility of power outages.

Monday is a boring and damned start for London, with light rain and rain fractures.

This only exacerbated the day for those dealing with the capital’s travel turmoil during a 24-hour subway strike.

The government’s flood monitoring service has also included warnings for Bournebrook, a tributary of the River Tam in Staffordshire.

In the last 24 hours, the other 6 flood warnings have been cleared.

More Office’s Stephen Keats said “heavy rain” would hit parts of southern England today.

It travels north during the day, but remains mostly dry in Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Starting tomorrow, there will be a “wish wash” pattern that mixes sunlight and showering, which can be partially heavy.

“The weather for the next few days will be volatile, variable and probably barely noticeable, and it will be a bit frustrating in the second week of June,” the forecaster said.

“In some parts of England it starts to rain at the start of the week, at worst on Wednesday, until the most dramatic end of the week when a heavy storm arrives.

A new south-westerly cyclone starts mid-week, bringing a mix of rain and thunderstorms to Northern Ireland and the north of England.

Wednesday is the wettest day, but parts of Scotland and the south of England need to stay dry.

“But Scotland’s fascinating weather week is starting to build as energetic cyclone fronts move north from Thursday and strong winds are expected across the western region.”
