Italy – coronavirus: Vaccination for children aged 5 to 11 from early December

by

The Italian government is ready to provide the reduced dose of coronavirus vaccine to children aged 5 to 11, from the first days of December. Almost immediately, that is, after the approval of the European Medicines Agency.

This was confirmed by the Italian Deputy Minister of Health Pierpaolo Sileri, who stressed that “the existing vaccination centers will be used, with places where, of course, only children will be vaccinated”.

“This Christmas I will only allow vaccinated people to enter my house. “I do not want to endanger the health of my parents and children,” Sileri added.

At the same time, regarding the “super vaccinated pass”, he underlined that “this measure will be adopted for a limited period of time” and that “for children 5 to 11 years old, the use of the green pass will not be provided”.

This is a measure under which – as broadcast by APE-MPE from last week – citizens who have been vaccinated will be allowed to freely enter cafes, restaurants, gyms, shopping malls and any other enclosed space. On the contrary, those residents of the country who are not vaccinated, with a negative diagnostic test, will now only be able to go to their office.

Finally, Pierpaolo Sileri stressed that the “super vaccinated pass” will also apply to the “white zones” (with a lower number of cases) while in the areas that can be turned into an orange or red zone, it will offer clear privileges to the vaccinated citizens.
