In a press conference after the crucial vote, Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Anderson stressed that the political crisis could have an impact on Sweden’s accession to NATO.

The Minister of Justice of Sweden Morgan Johansson survived Tuesday’s vote on a motion of censure, which was tabled against him by the center-right opposition, in a vote in the Swedish Parliament.

In all, 174 deputies voted “yes”, 97 “no”, 70 abstained and eight were absent, without completing the 175 votes needed to oust the justice minister. For the firing of Johansson 175 votes were required.

Otherwise this Scandinavian country would lead to a second government crisis in less than a year while it is in the process of joining NATO.

In a press conference after the crucial vote, Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Anderson stressed that the political crisis could have an impact Sweden’s accession to NATO.

“There is no doubt that the turmoil of the last few days could affect the image of Sweden, especially in this sensitive situation,” he said.
