Bolivia’s justice found former interim president Jeanine Áñez guilty of having organized a coup d’état in the Latin American country in 2019 against then-leader Evo Morales. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison, as announced on Friday (10).
Last August, the country’s Attorney General also filed an indictment against Áñez for genocide and other crimes over the death of about 20 protesters opposed to his government.
