The murder is being investigated after a 14-year-old boy was stabbed in Manchester.
He was injured with his mother, a 40-year-old survivor, whom police called a “brutal attack.”
The teenager was rushed to the hospital, but died about an hour after being taken away.
The detective believed that the attacker was “known to the victim and it was a family case.”
He is described as an Asian man in his forties, dressed in dark clothing of average physique and height.
The general public is asked to call 999 and advise them to stay away from the suspect.
At around 9:30 am last night, police and ambulances were called to the address in the Miles Plating district.
“What happened last night is not catastrophic. A teenage boy has died tragically and his mother is in mourning in hospital after a serious attack,” Manchester Police Detective Chief Inspector Gina Brendan said.
He said specially trained officers would support the mother during this “incredibly disturbing time” as she recovers in hospital.
The Northwest Police have confirmed that so far no one has been arrested and that the cordon remains on the ground this morning.
The case appears to be a “limited and domestic case,” DCI Brenand said.
He continued. “This is a brutal attack on a teenager who was mortally wounded, and we worked hard to find the person who did it, get him off the street, and arrest him where we could continue to work together. We are working. know about this completely tragic event.”
