Erdogan says he would like to discuss Ukraine “grain corridor” with Putin and Zelensky

The Turkish president said Sunday that he plans to to have talks next week with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin and its Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss safe grain exports from Ukraine, according to a video of his meeting with his party’s Turkish youth released by the presidential office.

“There is a war going on “Between Ukraine and Russia and we know that agricultural products come from these countries to a large extent,” he said. “At this stage, we have no problem with that, we have 5 million tonnes of wheat in our warehouses, but we would like to increase those volumes.”

“We will take part in the work for (creating a safe corridor for shipments of agricultural products) not only for us, but also for third countries,” he continued. “Negotiations are ongoing. “Next week we will discuss with Zelensky and Putin what steps can be taken.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin says Moscow is ready to guarantee unhindered grain exports if Ukraine clears its own ports of mines and that it could regulate exports through Russian-controlled ports of Berdyansk and Mariupol.
