Podcast: what to expect from the second round of elections in Colombia

by

Next Sunday (19), Colombia goes to the polls to choose the country’s next president. The two candidates who made it to the second round are leftist and former guerrilla Gustavo Petro, who was mayor of Bogotá, and populist Rodolfo Hernandez, a businessman who managed to debunk traditional right-wing parties.

Petro and Hernández are tied for the final stretch of the campaign, according to the latest polls. The victory of either one will mark the end of a traditional division in Colombian politics – which used to alternate between the liberal right and the conservative right.

In this Friday’s episode (17), Café da Manhã talks with the correspondent of Sheet for Latin America, Sylvia Colombo, on the political scenario in Colombia, the profiles of the two candidates and what to expect for the second round on Sunday.

The audio program is published on Spotify, partner streaming service of Sheet in the initiative and who specializes in music, podcast and video. You can listen to the episode by clicking above. To access the application just register for free.
