Relatives of the two men said on Wednesday that they had been missing in Ukraine for a week and expressed fears that they had been taken prisoner.
Russian media published photos and videos of two American citizens who were taken prisoner while fighting in Ukraine on Friday night. This is the first confirmation that the two Americans have been taken prisoner, with the young Russians talking about “mercenaries”.
The Izvestia newspaper presented a video with a “short interview”, as it says, of Andy Huin, 27, from Hartseli, Alabama. The RT channel showed a video with a man who states that he is Alexander Drouki, 39, from Taskaluza in the same State.
Relatives of the two men reported on Wednesday that they had been missing in Ukraine for a week, and expressed fears that they had been taken prisoner.
In the six-second video on Telegram, a bearded man with an American accent speaks to the camera and says: “My name is Alexander Drouki. I’m against the war “and repeats” I’m against the war “in Russian.
The same phrase, that is, “I am against the war” in Russian can be heard said in a two-second video by the man who, according to Izvestia, is named Andy Huin.
“The American mercenary Andy Huin, who was arrested near Kharkov, admitted that Western propaganda led him to Ukraine. “Having already been here and assessing the situation, I can say that in our news propaganda – almost everything, then it shows, in fact, a complete exaggeration,” he says on camera.
Hoon said they were told that the Russian army was “killing people indiscriminately”. “Later, he was able to see for himself how many lies the Western media is spreading,” comments Izvestia.
Russia’s Defense Ministry did not respond to a request for comment.
