Festival goers with advanced cancer want Glastonbury’s arrival to be the ultimate fuss, despite being hospitalized.
Former bricklayer Nigel Stonehouse from Hartpool bought a general admission ticket for the festival when he thought it was going well as usual.
However, after being diagnosed with kidney cancer last month, a 58-year-old man was told he now only has a few weeks to live.
A friend who planned to go to the festival is raising money to transport him by helicopter, and Fatboy Slim who plays there is also involved in the support.
Her best friend, Lizzie Bugs, supports this effort and writes: last time.
He is currently at North Tea Hospital and their excellent hospice team has assured them that they will do everything they can to make it happen.
Within hours, they contacted the festival’s site manager, who advised them to make as much of a contribution as possible.
that. I was contacted by a deceased friend who wanted to go to Glaston 1 one last time. He is so sick with cancer that he will have to be taken by ambulance. If you want to join Nige in helping his dying wish, make a donation here. https://t.co/Nc9ljPm0jg

“Unfortunately, there is no space left in the accessible area (Nige sells a common ticket), but the parking available makes it easy to get in.
“This is clearly a big deal and it will cost a lot. The hospice group has proposed to operate a helicopter. The first proposal was for £12,000.”
Called a “festival veteran”, Stonehouse has been visiting Glastonbury with friends for the past 30 years to see the Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash and David Bowie perform.
Stonehouse was diagnosed with cancer in mid-May, and doctors now told him it was incurable and had spread to his lungs.
He was planning to go to Glastonbury this week, but couldn’t travel for long without medical assistance, so they started raising money to pay for the helicopter that took him to North Tiz Hospital.
On Sunday night, the target of 00012,000 was raised by almost ფ10,000.
“We also recognize that even if we do raise money, Nige may be too bad to get there, in which case the money will be donated to a charity in Glastonbury.”
Her friend says she is “very stubborn and determined” despite her condition and sees Diana Ross at this year’s Somerset Festival from June 22-26.
“She feels positive, which gives her incentive and some positive hope,” said Maria Bagus.

“He is suffering so much from cancer that he will have to be taken away by ambulance. If you want to join us in supporting Nige’s last wish, please make a donation here.”
