More than 21,000 Afghan citizens at risk of being able to leave the country and relocate to Germany after the Taliban came to power on August 15, 2021, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock announced on Thursday.

According to Ms. Berbock, two or three of the Afghans who were allowed to relocate to Germany are now in German territory.
Two-thirds of the former employees of the Bundeswehr, the German army, have arrived in the European country, clarified the head of the German diplomacy.
The pace of arrivals from Afghanistan accelerated in 2022, said the German Foreign Minister. More than 12,000 have arrived in Germany since January.
