“I believe that Mr. Biden’s sincere efforts will find serious support for this and I will send a team to the United States,” Erdogan said of the F-16 issue.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed hope today that the US Congress would give the green light for the sale of F-16s to Turkey.

In particular, President Erdogan said that US President Joe Biden told him that “he will take the steps he can.”

At the same time, he pointed out that the issue is not only the attitude of the Democrats but also how the Republicans will move.

“I believe that Mr. Biden’s sincere efforts will find serious support, so I will send a team to the United States,” he said.

At the same time, the American President told reporters from the press conference during the NATO summit in Madrid that he believes that the Congress will finally approve the sale of the F-16.

“I told Erdogan what I told him in December. It is not in our interest not to do that. I explained to him that our position has not changed. “The F-16s have to be sold, but Congress has to decide … I think we can do it,” he said.
