Trapped at Frankfurt Airport are the Cypriot MPs Irini Charalambidou, Kyriakos Hatzigiannis and Christos Senekis. MPs go to the OSCE Summit in Birmingham via Frankfurt.
AKEL MP Irini Charalambidou in a post on Twitter she wrote characteristically: “Stuck at Frankfurt airport our flight was canceled again! Our bags are also lost! Don’t get on a plane! The whole mission for the OSCE CS we are literally trapped. Absolute chaos”.

Speaking on Cypriot state radio, the AKEL member of parliament said that they left Larnaca airport two days ago, while there was a delay from the Lufthansa company, as a result of which they missed the next flight. He noted that their suitcases had disappeared. “We are only the clothes we wear.”
Mrs. Charalambidou emphasized that their flight to Birmingham today was also cancelled. “The delegation consists of six people and we are going to the annual OSCE Summit in Birmingham.”
He pointed out that there is no one to talk to. “We are at the airport for hours and we are constantly being checked. They are apathetic and cold. It’s like we’re in a third-world country.”
He said that flights are constantly being canceled and there is no one to help people. “There is a possibility that we will travel tonight at 10:00 if the flight is not cancelled.”
