According to the Italian authorities, there are 20 people missing due to yesterday’s attack detachment of a large ice sheet in the Dolomite Alps. Six people lost their lives and 9 were injured. Two of the injured are in a serious condition and were immediately taken to the hospital, while he also died a child of only 9 years.

Rescue crews are continuing their search to locate the missing. As the Italian media reports, it is very difficult to find survivors and there is fear that in the end the death toll may exceed thirty.

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and the head of the Italian Civil Protection Service, Fabrizio Curzio, are currently traveling to the site of Canazei, where the aid coordination center has been set up.
