Plane flew for 14 hours with a hole in one side!

Passengers who left a flight Emirateson Friday July 1, 2022, spotted a large hole in the side of the plane after it landed in Brisbane, Australia.

The Airbus A380 had been flying for almost 14 hours from Emirates’ main hub of Dubai, with some passengers reporting that the incident may have happened during or shortly after take-off.

Although the superjumbo remained on the ground at Brisbane Airport as of Friday, Emirates said in a statement that the incident had “no impact on the fuselage, frame or structure of the aircraft”.

The incident occurred on flight EK430 on July 1, with the Aviation Herald reporting that the pilots had contacted Air Traffic Control at Brisbane Airport shortly before landing to report that they suspected a tire had blown on take-off and they were asking for emergency services to meet them on landing.

Inspectors also found a detached screw on the plane’s wing, but it is not yet known if the two incidents are related.

“There was a loud bang and I felt it through the floor as well“, said a passenger, speaking to the Australian newspaper “The Courier Mail”. “Tthe cabin crew remained calm, stopped eating and got on the phone and checked the wings and engines». The aircraft landed safely and no passengers were reported injured.
