IKEA is becoming a landlord in Japan, as it will start renting a tiny apartment, just 10 square meters.
The apartment is located in Tokyo and in fact will have a rent of only 99 yen or 0.77 euros per month.
IKEA will only rent one such apartment, which, of course, is fully equipped with its own furniture. The Swedish company accepts applications until December 3 from interested tenants, who must be over 20 years old.
The tenant will sign a lease until January 15, 2023, while he will also pay the bills of the apartment.
Of course, at 10 sq.m., it is a very small apartment, but IKEA states that it did everything it could to take advantage of the available space.
“One of the key keys is to make good use of the vertical space. “Looking at the room in its three dimensions, new possibilities open up in a limited space”, the company states.
Tokyo is one of the most densely populated cities in the world, with 14 million inhabitants, making these micro-apartments a trend.
IKEA promotes its apartment with the help of a shark mascot, who plays the role of broker in the relevant videos.
