Passengers on the American Airlines flight are alleged to have stolen more than $10,000 in cash and two credit cards from people on the plane.

Flight crew members reported that Diego Sebastian’s radio was suspicious during the nine-and-a-half-hour flight from Buenos Aires to Miami. According to the crew, the radio “walked repeatedly in the path of the plane,” sitting in a seat that was not assigned to part of the trip.

According to the Daily Mail, the radio was also found to “have a woman’s wallet”.

As soon as the plane landed, the radio was tapped and his backpack was searched. Authorities have found $10,732 in cash and 14,320 Argentine pesos with an approximate value of $110. In addition, they found two credit cards that were not his.

Authorities also interviewed the crew and asked passengers to check if any carry-on luggage was missing. Two passengers said they had no cash or credit card and one of their wallets was open.

According to court documents, the radio’s credit card matched the names of the two passengers.

The radio was seized by the United States Customs and Border Protection.

He was accused of robbery.

According to travel blogger Ben Schrapig, plane theft is more common than most passengers realize.

“If you’re traveling in coins over $10,000, you should have it close by, not in a bag and bottle top,” Schlapig said.

“A lot of people think that in-flight theft is less likely because you’re in such a hostile environment and you’re constantly surveilled.” On the contrary, it often works in the crooks’ favor.

“People aren’t too careful because they think they’re safe. People don’t often ask if someone’s bag is open or if they left it behind.”
