Russian-Ukrainian delegations meet in Istanbul about the blocked grain

Delegations of Russia and Ukraine will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, in Istanbul, to discuss the resumption of exports of Ukrainian grain that remains blocked in the Black SeaTurkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar announced today.

“Military delegations from the defense ministries of Turkey, Russia and Ukraine, as well as a delegation from the United Nations, will hold talks tomorrow in Istanbul on the safe delivery to international grain markets that remain blocked in Ukrainian ports,” Akar said in a statement. .

This quadrilateral meeting will take place amid rising global food prices, partly due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

NATO member Turkey has been stepping up diplomatic efforts for weeks to resume grain deliveries.
