The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated today that soon he will leave with his “head held high”a week after he was forced to resign as he lost the support of his top ministers and MPs.

“I am… proud of the leadership I have provided and will soon leave with my head held highJohnson told Parliament. He also said thatthe Conservative Party will rally around whoever wins the race to succeed him.

At the same time, a representative of the British Prime Minister stated that Johnson said that Shinzo Abe’s assassination was a shocking ‘act of senseless violence’while he offered his condolences to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in a telephone conversation they had today.

“The prime minister said the killing of Shinzo Abe was a shocking act of senseless violence. He highlighted Shinzo Abe’s role in building the foundations of the excellent UK-Japan relationship and said he was a true friend to Britain“, a Downing Street spokesperson said in a statement.
