White House officials warned Ukraine that Iran would use Russia’s “hundreds” of drones.

National security adviser to the president Joe Biden said the United States has information that Tehran is preparing to strengthen Moscow’s arsenal with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) “on an accelerated timeline.”

“The Iranian government is preparing to deliver up to hundreds of drones, including weaponized drones, to Russia on an accelerated schedule,” Jake Sullivan told reporters.

“Our information further indicates that Iran is preparing to train Russian troops in the use of these UAVs, with the first training scheduled to begin in early July.”

Sullivan added that it is not clear if the delivery has been made yet.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nacelle Kanani did not deny the comments or confirm the statement on Tuesday.

“Iran’s cooperation with Russia on some sophisticated techniques dates back to the Russo-Ukrainian war,” he said.

“Recently, no special progress has been made in this regard.

His comments were made ahead of next week’s visit to Middle Eastern countries by Vladimir Putin.

According to Kremlin press spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the Russian president will meet with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the main mediator between Ukraine and Russia.

However, Peskoff told reporters there was no talk of new peace talks.

In Tehran, Mohammadres Pourebrahimi, chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s Economic Committee, told state news agency IRNA that President Putin’s visit is aimed at improving economic relations between the two sanctions-hit countries.

Drones played a decisive role in the invasion of Russia, and such a supply from Iran only strengthens its power.

According to the Ukrainian troops, Russia has lost about 676 UAVs.
