Indiana Bans Abortion After 6 Weeks – Republicans Consider Banning State Abortion Outright

The authorities in her State Indiana announced that they are investigating a gynecologist who helped a 10-year-old girl to have abortionafter she became pregnant after being raped.

Dr. Caitlin Bernard reported in early July to several media outlets that she admitted the child to Indianapolis after being contacted by a colleague in Ohio. In this State, which borders Indiana, abortion is prohibited after the sixth week of pregnancy. The 10-year-old, who was raped in May by a man who was arrested on Tuesday, was past 6 weeks, which is why she went to Indiana, where abortions remain legal until the 21st week of pregnancy.

However, Republicans, who hold the majority in Indiana, are considering banning the practice entirely.

In anticipation, the attorney general launched an attack on Dr Bernard, accusing her of failing to inform the authorities about the girl’s case, as she was required to do under the Child Abuse Act. “We have this pro-abortion activist who is posing as a doctor and is known to not file the complaints that are required,” Todd Rokita told Fox News. “Therefore, we are gathering information, evidence, and we will fight to the end,” he continued, threatening to revoke the doctor’s license if it was found that he “had not informed us.”

Her tragic story 10 years old invoked last Friday by US President Joe Biden to denounce the Supreme Court’s decision on abortion. “Ten years old! Raped, six weeks pregnant, already injured and forced to go to another State!” commented.

Until Tuesday, when a suspect was arrested, the conservative press and many Ohio officials disputed that story, saying it wasn’t true. Now, they argue that abortion rights advocates are “using” the girl to further their agenda. Some blamed the president’s immigration policy Bidenbecause the arrested person is an illegal immigrant from Guatemala.

“This horrible situation was caused by Marxists, socialists and those in the White House who favor an anarchic border,” Indiana’s attorney general said.
