The teenage father was responsible for the accident that killed nine people, not the 13-year-old boy he originally thought of.
According to police, the crash in West Texas was so devastating that it was difficult to identify who was holding the wheel.
As of March, it was determined that Heinrich Siemens, 38, had taken a large dose of the drug during an accident that killed six golfers on the Southwestern University men’s and women’s golf teams.
Both his trainers Ricky and Henrich were killed in the crash.
Robert Molloy of the National Transportation Safety Board said:
A few days after the accident in Andrews County, the NTSB said the truck’s left front tire had a flat tire before the accident. But on Thursday, authorities said there was no evidence it had lost pressure or failed.
The final report is not scheduled until next year.
The van victim was identified as Mauricio Sanchez, 19, from Mexico. Travis Garcia, Pleasanton, Texas, age 19. Jackson Jin, 22, Westminster, Colo. Karissa Raines, 21, Fort Stockton, Texas. Laci Stone, 18, Nocona, Texas. Thiago Souza, 18 years old, Portuguese. Tyler James, hobby coach from New Mexico, 26 years old.
The other two students in the van were seriously injured.
After the tragedy, Ricky’s mother and Heinrich’s wife, Agatha Aggie Siemens, posted a photo of their son on Facebook with the caption “I miss you so much.” She also shared a photo of her husband hugging her from behind her.
